They reunite with the Madrigals, and the townspeople arrive to help them rebuild the Casita ("All of You"). When the house is rebuilt, the Madrigals give Mirabel a gleaming doorknob with an M on it. When she places it in the front door, the magic springs back to life, restoring the Casita and all the family's Gifts and spreading through the village. The Madrigals pose for another family picture, this time with Mirabel and Bruno included. On his fifth birthday, Pepa's youngest son, Antonio, gets the ability to talk with animals, and the family takes a picture with him but leaves out Mirabel.

Despite Mirabel's trying to save it, the candle dies in her hands, leaving all the Madrigals powerless. While the family and several locals look at the damage, Mirabel feels guilty and leaves the town. Visitors can climb up and around Antonio’s rainforest, spin through Isabela’s flower-filled room, slide down into the Courtyard, and more. Interactive scenes inspired by the film and uniquely created for this experience, including Luisa’s and Pepa’s never-before-seen rooms and cousin Dolores‘ Soundscape Door.

The screenplay was written by Castro Smith and Bush, both of whom also conceived the film's story with Howard, Miranda, Jason Hand, and Nancy Kruse. Encanto follows a multigenerational Colombian family, the Madrigals, led by a matriarch whose children and grandchildren—except for Mirabel Madrigal—receive magical gifts from a miracle, which they use to help the people in their rural community, called the Encanto. When Mirabel learns that the family is losing their magic, she sets out to find out why and save the family and house. Encanto tells the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia, in a magical house, in a vibrant town, in a wondrous, charmed place called an Encanto.

Creating this scaled-down universe has been a passion of his for about a quarter of a century now. The voices of Stephanie Beatriz (Mirabel) and María Cecilia Botero (Abuela Alma) welcome you to the Encanto x CAMP experience, joined by the voices of John Leguizamo (Bruno) and Ravi Cabot-Conyers (Antonio) throughout the show, bringing the magic of the film to life. Fifty years later, a new village thrives under the candle's protection, with its magic granting "gifts" to each Madrigal descendant at the age of five, which they use to serve the villagers. However, Bruno, who was vilified and scapegoated for his gift of seeing the future, disappeared ten years ago. Julieta's youngest daughter, 15-year-old Mirabel, did not receive a gift, and no one knows why. One day, Mirabel discovers something is wrong with the family's home, or "Encanto." As a result, the family's powers start to become weaker, and it is up to Mirabel to figure out how to save everything.
Design
Once you’ve seen the film and fallen in love with the characters, you’ll want to emulate their style in attire like Mirabel’s ”My Best Self” T-Shirt… And we all know that no Disney look is complete without an ear headband! The Encanto Minnie Mouse ear headband features embroidered flowers, a striped bow with pom center and ”magic awaits you” text along the side. Little ones looking for colors that pop will love this Encanto dress with colorful allover print and puffed sleeves.
An understanding Mirabel and apologetic Alma reconciling, they and the rest of the Madrigals (including a reinstated Bruno) work together in rebuilding the house. Once construction was finished, Mirabel adds the front door's doorknob (which her family made for her) to the Casa Madrigal, bringing forth new magic (born from Mirabel's love for her family). With Casita as the new vessel for the magic and regaining its sentience, the Madrigal family members rejoice in the return of their home and gifts with enthusiasm.
Review: In ‘Unsung Hero,’ a family’s musical success story comes to life via the clan itself
In “Encanto” there’s a robust engagement with, and respect for, Latino culture in all of its dimensions. The Madrigal family members’ skin tones range from lighter to darker, their hair textures from straight to kinky-curly. And the grand pooh-bah of the contemporary musical movie score, Lin-Manuel Miranda, provides a spellbinding soundtrack of songs combining salsa, bachata and hip-hop played with traditional folk instruments from Colombia. Disney’s new film, about a gifted family in Colombia, has stunning animation, a beautifully composed story and spellbinding songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Story requirements dictated the needs of design, but there were time constraints.
Not wanting Mirabel to be hurt, he broke the vision's tablet and isolated himself. At Mirabel's insistence, Bruno reluctantly conjures another vision that at first resembles the previous one, but then depicts Mirabel embracing Isabela, with whom Mirabel has a strained relationship, and strengthening the candle. Later that evening, Mirabel's 21-year-old sister Isabela, who can make plants and flowers grow at will, is scheduled to be engaged to neighbor Mariano Guzmán.
Each bedroom door depicts its inhabitant's name and their respective gift carved into the wood, and they emit a golden glow that illuminates the image. The bedroom doors also have the inhabitant's first initial carved on the doorknob. Relative to the front door, Alma's door is in the center in the back with Pepa's door to its left and Julieta's door to its right.
Money isn’t a topic Sheegog likes to discuss — “We are not wealthy people here, and I’m trying to figure out a way to retire because there’s not a way to do it right now” — and he’s quick to add that the castle didn’t cost him tens of thousands; he’s simply factoring in labor costs. He estimates that over the last two decades he’s sunk what would be the equivalent of buying a pool into his backyard Disneyland. A Disney-inspired backyard is not, necessarily, an anomaly in American suburbia. HGTV once ran a show dedicated to the practice, and in the early days of the pandemic it became a social media trend to re-create Disney rides at home, with fans experimenting with rudimentary special effects and bringing pets into the action. While the actual Disneyland Resort is just a few minutes from the Sheegog home, Castle Peak speaks to the way the theme park can become a sort of communal hub that can touch multiple generations and stand as something for which people can connect around.
Casita is able to freely manipulate itself and all the furniture inside it; it can open and close its own doors, windows, drawers and cabinets, move and flip the tiles and planks that make up its floors, and it can even decorate itself. The third floor consists of Bruno's tower and Alma's room with an a open window that displays the magic candle.
